Bayern Munich have successfully reached an agreement to sign Joao Palhinha from Fulham for a fee of €51 million (£43.1m, $54.9m) with an additional €5 million in potential add-ons.
The 28-year-old Portuguese international came close to joining the German giants last summer, having agreed to personal terms and even completing a medical. However, the transfer ultimately fell through as Fulham were unable to secure a replacement in time.
Palhinha, who has been a standout performer for Fulham, was also the subject of a £45 million ($58.8m) bid from West Ham United last summer, which Fulham rejected.
Bayern Munich’s successful acquisition of Palhinha adds significant strength to their midfield, as the player is known for his robust defensive skills and tactical awareness. Palhinha’s move marks a significant step in his career, as he joins one of Europe’s elite clubs, aiming to make a substantial impact in the Bundesliga and beyond.
